D category

Practical training for D category

The practical part of the training for the D category is carried out in real traffic conditions and involves mastering the following:

Correct starting, stopping, and handling of the bus,
Safe boarding and exiting of passengers, as well as proper positioning at bus stops,
Proper use of control devices, braking, and gear shifting on vehicles of increased length and mass,
Driving in a convoy and adjusting to traffic density,
Navigating intersections, roundabouts, and complex traffic situations,
Safe overtaking, passing, and assessing the width and length of the bus,
Mastering maneuvering: reversing, parking, and turning in confined spaces,
Driving on the open road and adjusting to various road and visibility conditions

Who can be trained for D category?

To enroll in D category training, the candidate must:

is at least 24 years old to start training (or 21 years old with completed CPC qualification),
possesses a valid Category B driving license,
possesses a medical certificate for operating Category D vehicles,
has proper personal documentation,
if they possess a C or CE category, they can access training under simplified conditions,
completes theoretical instruction and passes the theoretical exam before starting practical training,
successfully masters the practical part of the training on a bus and passes the final exam.
