The practical part of Category A training is conducted in real traffic conditions and includes mastering:

To help candidates better understand the motorcycle category system, it is important to know what each one includes and how they build upon one another.
Category AM represents the entry-level in the world of two-wheelers. It allows the operation of light motorcycles and mopeds with an engine capacity up to 50 cm³. It is ideal for the youngest riders and anyone looking to acquire their first motorcycle handling skills.
Category A1 covers motorcycles up to 125 cm³ and a power output up to 11 kW. It is intended for candidates who already have basic riding experience and want a safer transition to more powerful motorcycles.
Category A2 allows the operation of medium-power motorcycles – up to 35 kW. It represents an excellent step towards more powerful bikes and is ideal preparation for the full Category A.
All three categories together form a natural progression in mastering motorcycle riding, so candidates usually follow the path AM → A1 → A2 → Category A, gradually gaining more knowledge, control, and confidence.
During the training, candidates master everything – from basic maneuvers to more complex situations in real traffic. Lessons include riding through city streets, intersections, the training grounds, and scenarios that are crucial both for successfully passing the exam and for safe independent riding after obtaining a license.
Category A training at VIR Driving School is led by instructors who are, first and foremost, long-time motorcyclists and the founders of Serbia’s largest motorcycle community – BJBikers. Through collaboration with this community, special attention is dedicated to rider safety, education, and the enhancement of riding skills, which includes free safe riding courses.
Another new feature is the BJB Podcast series, covering all topics relevant to motorcyclists—from gear to riding techniques—which will soon be available via the website. Training is conducted on carefully selected motorcycles – the Suzuki SV 650 and Honda Hornet – models that fully meet legal requirements and provide safety, stability, and reliability to all candidates.
